Hook: You don’t need to change your negative thoughts, instead…
You just need to change how you engage with them.
But how?
It is always easier said than done, right?
There are 3 ways you can shift your relationship with your negative thoughts.
- Detach yourself from the thought.
You are not your negative thoughts.Instead of saying, “I’m not good enough,” reframe it as, “I’m having the thought that I’m not good enough.”
This approach helps you create distance from your thoughts, allowing you to observe them instead of letting them consume you.
- Challenge Your Thoughts
Ask yourself or write down on paper:
- Is this an absolute truth?
- Is there any evidence to contradict it?
- If a close friend said this, what would you say to help them?
This process helps you see that negative thoughts often don’t reflect reality. And when you realize that, their power fades.
- Take Action to prove them wrong.
When negative thoughts arise, instead of believing and letting them control you, ask yourself:
- What can I do right now to prove this thought wrong?
- If I didn’t believe this thought, what would I do differently?
The moment you act against it, you weaken its hold over you.
You prove that your negative thoughts aren’t true. And you will see that you are more capable than you think.
